Perpetual Groove Hints At Return

The image in question is the group’s longtime logo with photos of guitarist Brock Butler, keyboardist Matt McDonald, bassist Adam Perry and drummer Albert Suttle interspersed leading many to wonder whether a return for PGroove is in store. We should note today’s Instagram post is the first on the feed since April ’13 and there’s also been activity on the group’s Facebook page of late. As for now there’s no official word that Perpetual Groove will indeed end an indefinite hiatus that began on April 5, 2013 following a show at the quartet’s “home” venue of Athens’ Georgia Theatre.
Perpetual Groove was formed in Savannah, Georgia in 1997 and really took form in 2001, when McDonald and Suttle joined up with co-founding members Brock Butler and Adam Perry. McDonald left the band for a spell, but returned in 2012 and continued on through that “final show” at the Georgia Theatre in April of 2013. In January of 2013, the members of PGroove announced the forthcoming hiatus and since “The Last Groove,” Butler has been playing solo shows and has been a part of Perpetual Grass, while Suttle, McDonald and Perry have devoted their time to Ghost Owl. Stay tuned!
