Pearl Jam Dusts Off Tom Petty & Bob Dylan Covers In London

Pearl Jam closed out a European Tour at 02 Arena in London on Tuesday night. The show was originally scheduled for June 22, but was postponed due to throat issues suffered by Eddie Vedder. Eddie gave a heartfelt speech apologizing for the delay as part of a concert that featured a number of tour debuts.
The group opened with “Oceans” off their debut album Ten and worked through a series of staples before Eddie talked to the crowd following “Do The Evolution.” Vedder explained how heartbroken he was to have to postpone the show and thanked the audience for changing their plans. The first big surprise of the evening came towards the middle of the main set, when Pearl Jam dusted off Vitalogy track “Satan’s Bed” for the first time since April 26, 2016.

Vedder began the first encore of the evening with a solo rendition of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down.” The full band returned and busted out obscurity “Fatal” for the first time since July 8, 2014. Next up was the tour debut of “Around The Bend” off No Code. The 33-song concert later concluded with a rare cover of Bob Dylan’s “All Along The Watchtower.” Pearl Jam last performed “All Along The Watchtower” back on November 14, 2015.
Pearl Jam kicks off a brief U.S. Tour in Seattle on August 8.
