Paul Simon Shares ‘Can’t Run But’

On September 7, renowned singer-songwriter Paul Simon will issue a new album In The Blue Light. The record features 10 new recordings of Simon’s “personal favorites from his body of work,” including “Can’t Run But.”

Simon originally issued “Can’t Run But” on his 1990 album The Rhythm Of The Saints. Simon worked with his longtime collaborator Roy Halee to produce In The Blue Light, which also features guest artists Wynton Marsalis, Bill Frisell, Jack DeJohnette and Steve Gadd. The group yMusic also appears on several of the tracks.

Simon and yMusic have been performing concerts together recently, which have featured “Can’t Run But.” The National’s Bryce Dessner provided the new arrangement of the song that appears on In The Blue Light. Stream that version of the song below:
