Panda Bear (Animal Collective's Noah Lennox) confirmed the upcoming release of a new album entitled Sinister Grift — due out on February 28, 2025 via Domino — featuring lead single “Defense.” Lennox will support his first solo LP in five years by embarking on a North American tour with Toro y Moi in February.
The 10-track Sinister Grift was recorded at Lennox’s Estudio Campo facility in Lisbon, Portugal and co-produced with his Animal Collective bandmate Josh “Deakin” Dibb. Noah Lennox played nearly all of the instruments himself on an LP that includes contributions from Cindy Lee, Spirit of the Beehive’s Rivka Ravede, Deakin and the rest of their Animal Collective bandmates.

“Working on this record felt like a sacred and warm return. Noah and I first started putting music down to multitrack cassette in 1991. 32 years later and working in the same fashion, two friends alone in a room searching for sounds and feelings that move us, I am very proud of what we created together,” Deakin said of the forthcoming album in a press release. “Sinister Grift feels like the songwriter I’ve known for over 30 years but also feels like some sort of new chapter for Noah. Couldn’t be more proud of the result.”
Panda Bear and Toro y Moi kick off their 2025 North American tour on February 6 with a concert at First Avenue in Minneapolis. The trek continues with stops in Chicago on February 7, Detroit on February 8, Toronto on February 10, Montreal on February 11, Boston on February 12, New York City on February 14, Philadelphia on February 15 and Washington D.C. on February 16. The first leg ends after shows in Raleigh on February 19, Nashville on February 20 and Atlanta on February 21.
The tour resumes in May with Toro y Moi sharing the bill in Phoenix on the 8th, Austin on the 12th, Houston on the 13th, Dallas on the 14th and Denver on the 16th. Panda Bear then goes it alone for dates in San Francisco on May 19, Portland (Oregon) on May 21, Seattle on May 22 and Vancouver on May 23.
General on-sales begin on Friday, October 18 at 10 a.m. local time.
