The Oteil Cam: Oteil Burbridge Sings Lead On 3 With Dead & Company

While 2017 has been a tough year for Oteil Burbridge in that his longtime band mates Butch Trucks, Gregg Allman and Col. Bruce Hampton passed away and his brother Kofi suffered a major heart attack, the bassist loved his time on the road with Dead & Company. Oteil was all smiles throughout the run and was given the opportunity to sing lead on three Grateful Dead favorites. Burbridge recently shared “Oteil Cam” video featuring him singing all three tunes.

Here’s what Oteil had to say about the tour in a post on Facebook, “This summer was the most fun I’ve ever had on tour in my entire life. I never thought that I would be singing lead on Jerry Garcia ballads at sold-out stadiums, for starters. The support from the band, crew, and all of the fans blows me away. Being able to have my family out to experience this with me made it more than perfect. I couldn’t have imagined how much my life would change in a matter of weeks. Thank you to everyone who came to see Dead & Company this summer. Hopefully we’ll all be together again real soon!”

Burbridge has posted “Oteil Cam” footage shot from the side of the stage showing him singing lead on “China Doll,” “Fire On The Mountain” and “Comes A Time”:
