Gorillaz held the first of two concerts last night at The O2 Arena in London. Frontman Damon Albarn welcomed a number of guests to the stage during the show, including Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher.
The final song of the main set saw the emergence of Gallagher, along with Little Simz, Savages’ Jehnny Beth and Blur’s Graham Coxon for a rendition of “We Got the Power.” Beth was recruited on the recording of the song on the recently issued Gorillaz LP Humanz. Earlier in the evening Gruff Rhys and De La Soul were onstage for “Superfast Jellyfish” from 2010’s Plastic Beach, while Yasiin Bey and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble joined on a bust out of “Sweepstakes” from the same record.
Other guests appearing in London last night included Humanz contributors Vince Staples, Peven Everett, D.R.A.M., Jamie Principle, Zebra Katz and Pusha T. Albarn also brought out Pauline Black, Bootie Brown, Shaun Ryder and Roses Gabor at various points throughout the peroformance.
Gorillaz return to The O2 Arena for another concert tonight.
