By Scott Bernstein Mar 30, 2018 • 8:01 am PDT

The 2018 installment of the Newport Folk Festival will be held, as always, at historic Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island July 27 – 29. Organizers of the event continue to roll out this year’s lineup and the latest announcement is an intriguing one.
On Sunday, July 29 Jon Batiste will host a set dubbed A Change Is Gonna Come with The Dap-Kings. No further details about what is in store have been provided, but an image accompanying the announcement features signs and images from protests. One of the highlights from last year’s Newport Folk Festival was a set of protest songs called Speak Out.
