One of the nation’s most prestigious festivals, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, returns to the Crescent City April 22 – May 1. Today, organizers have unveiled the massive and impressive talent roster for Jazz Fest ’16.
The varied lineup includes headliners Stevie Wonder, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Neil Young & Promise Of The Real, Snoop Dogg, Paul Simon and My Morning Jacket. There are plenty of JamBase favorites sprinkled throughout the rest of the bill such as Steely Dan, Beck, Gary Clark Jr., Gov’t Mule, Mavis Staples, Dr. John, Gov’t Mule, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Snarky Puppy, Elvis Costello, Galactic, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Grace Potter and Galactic. Dumpstaphunk will team with original Meter Art Neville, while tributes to both Allen Toussaint and B.B. King will be a part of the festivities at the fairgrounds. Tedeschi Trucks Band will be joined by “friends” with no details revealed as of yet as to who they may be.
