A new book entitled Jerry on Jerry, featuring a collection of interviews with Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia conducted and edited by the band’s former publicist Dennis McNally, will be published in the Fall. Compiled in conjunction with the Jerry Garcia Family estate, Jerry on Jerry will feature a foreword written by Garcia’s daughter Trixie Garcia.

The book is due to be released this November by J.P. Leventhal, publisher of Black Dog & Leventhal, an imprint of Hachette Books. Jerry on Jerry marks the first time these interviews have been shared publicly and will be available in hardcover, eBook and as a special audio edition featuring more than eight hours of the original audio of Jerry discussing a wide range of topics including, “growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area and his first encounters with early R&B to his thoughts on songwriting, LSD, the Beats and Neal Cassady, government, movies, and much more.”
The special audio edition will also include “a dozen original, previously unreleased live musical recordings courtesy of the Garcia family.” Pre-order information is expected soon.
