Jack White continued to keep the music industry on its toes by releasing a new solo album in an innovative fashion. The untitled effort, referred to by fans as No Name thanks to the only words stamped on its white label, was given out for free on Friday to those purchasing vinyl from White’s Third Man Records stores.
The extremely limited vinyl set was distributed for one-day-only at Third Man locations in Detroit, London and Nashville. While White seemingly encouraged fans to spread No Name far and wide by posting an Instagram story featuring the words “RIP IT” atop the album, the vinyl is scoring a hefty premium on eBay. Seven sales were made on Tuesday as per 130 Point’s records with the lowest price $550 and the highest $1,026. The average price was $717.

Jack White’s new album comes on the heels of his two 2022 LPs, Entering Heaven Alive and Fear Of The Dawn. Many reviews and stories about No Name herald the record as a return to White’s blues-rock roots and they are spot on. The 42:26 effort channels The White Stripes without looking backwards. Each untitled song is chock full of blazing riffs and passionate vocals.
“Today you have proven that the quiet rumblings of something mysterious can grow into the beautiful experience of a community sharing the excitement and energy of music & art,” reads a note posted late Friday on Third Man Records’ Instagram. The post also advised fans, “and always stayed tuned.”

Jack White returned to the stage at Michigan Central Station in his hometown of Detroit on June 6. The set at the concert celebrating the site’s reopening did not include any new material and was his first performance since February 2023.
On August 3, White will perform at the 2024 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival in South Korea. Jack White was also towards the top of the 2024 Desert Daze lineup, which arrived yesterday. After a one-year hiatus, Desert Daze returns to Southern California’s Lake Perris October 10 – 13.
