New Festival Alert | Galactic & Tipitinas Present The Landing

New Orleans institutions Galactic and Tipitina’s are joining forces this September for the inaugural year of The Landing Music Festival, a two-day festival that will be held just minutes from downtown NOLA at South Shore Harbor on Lake Pontchartrain.

The two-day festival will take place September 26 and 27. In addition to Galactic, The Landing will feature performances from Grace Potter, Cake, Dr. Dog, Trampled By Turtles, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, NMO, The Soul Rebels and Rayland Baxter. More artists will be added in the coming weeks and months. Galactic and Tipitina’s curated the lineup of national acts as well as local talent hand-picked to perform at the festival.

“It’s so exciting for Galactic to have our own festival” says Robert Mercurio, bassist and founding member of the group. “We have played hundreds of festivals and wish to bring all of the best parts of those back home to New Orleans.”

Since opening in 1977, Tipitina’s has become an essential part of the New Orleans music scene. A Tipitina’s spokesman said that they are “excited about the launch of this partnership and the promise of what this shared vision can achieve.”

Presale tickets will go on sale Friday, June 26 at 12 p.m. CT via TicketWeb using the code “LANDING2015”. Tickets go on sale to the public Monday, July 6.
