After clandestinely sharing a new album by slipping vinyl copies to unsuspecting customers at his Third Man Records stores, guitarist Jack White has officially released his latest studio album, No Name. White’s new album comes on the heels of his two 2022 LPs, Entering Heaven Alive and Fear Of The Dawn. The 13-track LP was “recorded, produced, and mixed by White at his Third Man Studio throughout 2023 and 2024, pressed to vinyl at Third Man Pressing, and released by Third Man Records.” White and his band — bassist Dominic Davis, The Raconteurs drummer Patrick Keeler and keyboardist Bobby Emmett — recently debuted songs from No Name at a series of intimate concerts.
Masked country singer-songwriter Orville Peck released Stampede: The Full Album today through Warner Records. Consisting of 15 collaborative tracks, the project grew from Peck’s performance of “Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond Of Each Other” at outlaw country legend Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday celebration concerts at the Hollywood Bowl last year. Originally released in 1981 by Ned Sublette, “Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond Of Each Other” was later covered by Nelson, whose version was issued in 2006. Peck sought Nelson to record a version of “Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond Of Each Other,” which grew into the larger Stampede project. Nelson appears on the album, along with Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Kylie Minogue, Diplo, Teddy Swims, Margo Price, Mickey Guyton, Nathaniel Rateliff, TJ Osborne, Waylon Payne and Fancy Hagood. The full album’s release follows an earlier issued first volume featuring Elton John, Allison Russell, Nathaniel Rateliff, Noah Cyrus, Midland and Bu Cuaron.
Killer Mike
Michael & The Mighty Midnight Revival - Songs For Sinners & Saints
- Loma Vista Recordings
- 10 tracks
Called the “epilogue” to rapper Killer Mike‘s 2023 album, Michael, available today is the 10-song follow-up, Michael & The Mighty Midnight Revival – Songs For Sinners & Saints features the gospel backing group The Mighty Midnight Revival. Additional guests appearing on the album include Anthony Hamilton, Jordan Alyssa, Troy Durden, Adonica Nunn, Jori, Offset, Blxst, Lena Byrd Miles, Bellygang Kush, Jane Handcock, Alicia Peters-Jordan, Key Glock and Project Pat.
“I had a year to live with Michael and I realized I had more I wanted to do with this sound before moving on,” Killer Mike said. “When I was growing up an important part of church service was people having the opportunity to stand up and give public testimony on their trials, tribulations, and triumphs. After the celebratory atmosphere that followed Michael I was reminded that tribulations never cease, but God is always with me and this is a testimonial of my tumultuous times, my trials, and my continued triumph in spite of doubt, outright hate, and fear.”
Los Lonely Boys released their first studio album in 11 years, Resurrection, via BMG. The brotherly Texican rock ‘n’ roll trio’s last album was 2013’s Revelation. The trio — guitarist Henry Garza, bassist Jojo Garza and drummer Ringo Garza — captured the new record at Henry’s studio in the brothers’ hometown of San Angelo, Texas, and at Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas near El Paso. Los Lonely Boys pay their respects to Texas legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Freddy Fender on Resurrection while also showcasing “the sonic fire that bonds the Los Lonely Boys brotherhood.” Jojo Garza shared his thoughts on Resurrection and album opener “Wish You Would.”
“It’s something we think people need to hear—especially the youth. When we’re young, we think we have it figured out. When you get older, you start to see things differently. Having kids of our own, we see their ambitions and ideas of what they want to be, so we want to be good parents. The message is, ‘Be careful what you wish for. There could be a false light, and we don’t want you to get hurt.’”

49 Winchester issued a new album, Leavin’ This Holler, via New West Records. Leavin’ This Holler follows the Virginia-born alt-country outfit’s acclaimed 2022 album, Fortune Favors the Bold. 49 Winchester — guitarists Isaac Gibson and Bus Shelton, bassist Chase Chafin, pedal steel guitarist Noah Patrick, keyboardist Tim Hall and drummer Justin Louthian — produced the 10-track Leavin’ This Holler with Stewart Myers. The band captured the new record “in a handful of studios around the country whenever there was a rare moment between relentless touring schedules.” Guest spots on the album include singer-songwriter Maggie Antone, fiddler Philip Bowen, guitarist Cole Chafin and Czech National Symphony Orchestra.
Released on what would have been late Civil Rights activist and author James Baldwin’s 100th birthday, renowned musician Meshell Ndegeocello released her new album, No More Water: The Gospel Of James Baldwin. The 17-track tribute album follows the acclaimed bassist’s 2023 Blue Note debut, The Omnichord Real Book. Ndegeocello co-produced the album with contributing guitarist Chris Bruce. A core group of vocalist Justin Hicks, saxophonist Josh Johnson, keyboardist Jebin Bruni and drummer Abe Rounds, appear alongside vocalist Kenita-Miller Hicks, keyboardists Jake Sherman and Julius Rodriguez and trumpeter Paul Thompson. The album also features spoken word by poet Staceyann Chin and Pulitzer Prize-winning author and critic Hilton Als.
Sophcore is Moses Sumney’s first new release in three years. The Ghanaian-American singer-songwriter recorded six new songs for Sophcore, which was issued by Sumney’s label Tuntum. The album follows his 2018 EP Black in Deep Red, 2014, his 2020 full-length album Græ and the 2021 live release Live From Blackalachia. Recently Sumney has worked on movie and television projects, including currently co-starring in theaters in the feature film MaXXXine.
“Sophcore explores the meeting points between sensuality and intuition… esotericism and populism… deep feeling and fun,” Sumney stated. “It’s diving into subterranean rhythm, bass and drums, and making music for the hips as well as the heart.”
Ween released Chocolate & Cheese (Deluxe Edition) in celebration of the 1994’s album’s 30th anniversary via Rhino Records. The reissue consists of a remastered version of the original album along with 15 previously unreleased demos and outtakes. The New Hope, Pennsylvania-born band led by Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo and Aaron “Gene Ween” Freeman tapped Andrew Weiss to produce the follow-up to their major label debut, 1992’s Pure Guava. Deaner listened to hundreds of hours of tapes from the sessions that yielded Chocolate & Cheese before he and Gener picked their 15 favorites that accompany the remastered original album on the deluxe edition. Acclaimed audio engineer Bernie Grundman remastered Chocolate & Cheese from the original flat master tapes to provide the best audio quality. Additionally, Grundman mastered the bonus tracks using the best available cassettes and DAT tapes in the Ween archives.
“When I hear it, I feel like I’m listening to an autobiography of our lives in the early to mid-’90s… If it sounds like we had fun making it, we did. That’s kind of what Ween is all about, though,” Melchiondo stated of the experience and jokingly added, “…keeping with Ween tradition, Aaron and I probably picked all the wrong songs, mixed them, and now here they are.”
