Neil Young To Tour With Promise Of The Real In 2018 According To Lukas Nelson

2017 has been among the quietest years of Neil Young‘s legendary career. Outside of a cameo at Stagecoach and a set at Farm Aid, Neil hasn’t performed publicly at all this year. Thankfully, 2018 will be different according to a member of Young’s current backing band, Lukas Nelson.

In 2015 and 2016 Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real toured with Neil Young for some of the most exciting shows from Neil in recent memory. Almost each concert saw Neil reach back into his catalog to come up with a song he hadn’t played in decades. Lukas told the Statesman about what’s in store for 2018:

We also did a record with Neil Young, a new one that we just finished, and that’s coming out sometime soon, too. And we’re going to go on tour with Neil. So next year is going to be crazy. Neil’s our priority; we’ll wipe out the whole summer for him.

Neil is prone to “follow the muse” and change plans on a moment’s notice, but the thought of Young returning to the road with Promise Of The Real is an exciting one.
