Neil Young and Promise of The Real ran up against curfew issues on Saturday night at BottleRock Napa. The plug was pulled before the band was able to complete “Rockin’ In The Free World,” however the crowd sang along with the sound coming off the stage to finish the set in proper form.

Young and the band opened their 90-minute headlining set at Napa Valley Expo in Napa, California with a jammed-out “Love & Only Love.” The sextet went on to treat the crowd to material from throughout Neil’s career, including such favorites as “Alabama,” “Words,” “Harvest Moon,” “Don’t Let It Bring You Down” and “Like A Hurricane.” Additionally, the group performed recently debuted numbers “Milky Way,” “She Showed Me love” and “Rainbow Of Colors.”

Neil and POTR revved into “Rockin’ In The Free World” at 9:50 p.m., ten minutes before the event’s strict curfew as per the San Francisco Chronicle’s report. The band took their time working through the beloved favorite from 1989’s Freedom. In the video below, a man can be seen telling Neil something just before the sound from the main P.A. was cut. Young could have cut the version right there and then but decided to move forward. Fans sang the “Rockin’ In The Free World” chorus for about 90 seconds before the band finally concluded the song.
