Neil Young recently debuted a new song entitled “Lets Roll Again,” which was released as the latest single from the forthcoming neil young and the chrome hearts debut album. The 10-track album, Talkin To The Trees, will be issued by Reprise Records on June 13.
With lyrics about the auto industry and China, “Lets Roll Again” also takes a shot at Tesla with the lines “If yer a fascist, then get a Tesla / If it’s electric, it doesn’t matter.” Young is a longtime proponent of alternative fueled cars. In 2009, Young released Fork in the Road, an album inspired by his LincVolt hybrid-engine 1959 Lincoln Continental.
Young’s 2002 album Are You Passionate? included the song “Let’s Roll.” Young wrote “Let’s Roll” in honor of the victims of the September 11, 2001, hijacked United Airlines Flight 93.

Young produced Talkin To The Trees with Lou Adler. The album was recorded at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, California with Young backed by the chrome hearts — Micah Nelson (guitar/vocals), Corey McCormick (bass/vocals), Anthony LoGerfo (drums) and Spooner Oldham (Farfisa organ).
“Lets Roll Again” was played by Young at the recent Light Up The Blues 7 benefit concert at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre. Young previously shared the Talkin To The Trees single, “Big Change.”
