Neal Francis served as the musical guest on Tuesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. The Chicago-based musician led his touring band through “What’s Left Of Me,” the latest taste of his forthcoming studio album, Return To Zero.
Return To Zero is due out on March 14 via ATO Records. The 11-track follow-up to 2022’s In Plain Sight marks Francis’ third full-length studio album. Neal Francis worked with co-producer Sergio Rios on a record inspired by ELO.

Neal Francis was joined by his touring band of bassist Mike Starr, drummer Collin O’Brien and guitarist Andy Gabbard on Kimmel. Starr, O’Brien and former guitarist Kellen Boersma are featured on Return To Zero.
“What’s Left Of Me” was written by Neal Francis in collaboration with Nashville-based songwriter Chris Gelbuda. “Chris and I are good friends and we got to talking about the challenges of being in a committed relationship while you’re on tour,” Neal said of his latest single. “A lot of these songs were influenced by Electric Light Orchestra and the way Jeff Lynne synthesizes classical music and pop songwriting, and ‘What’s Left Of Me’ was definitely one where I was going for an ELO vibe.”
