My Morning Jacket’s New Single Asks ‘Aren’t We One?’

My Morning Jacket ponders the question of “Aren’t We One?” with their newly released single. The Brendan O’Brien-produced single arrived today via ATO Records.

My Morning Jacket and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats are currently out on their joint Eye To Eye Tour 2024. The bands announced livestreams of the tour’s stop tomorrow, Wednesday, September 18 and Thursday, September 19 at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater will be available via nugs.net. Proceeds from the livestreams will benefit HeadCount.

“Aren’t We One?” was co-written by MMJ frontman Jim James and keyboardist Bo Koster, along with Manchester Orchestra guitarist Andy Hull. The new song arrived with an accompanying message from Jim James, who stated:

“Music is the invisible architecture holding up the entire universe. Music is the great reminder that life, despite its challenges, still brims with so much beauty. Music connects us back to the source — the heartbeat of existence, the force of love that binds us all, that boundless ocean of cosmic energy.
