My Morning Jacket Debuts Rolling Stones Cover With Nathaniel Rateliff In Atlanta

My Morning Jacket and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats continued the Eye To Eye Tour 2024 on Saturday near Atlanta in Alpharetta, Georgia. The two acts have been trading sit-ins at each stop and did so again at the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre, where Jim James and Patrick Hallahan teamed with Rateliff & The Night Sweats on a Traffic classic before Nathaniel Rateliff helped MMJ premiere a Rolling Stones cover.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats began the show on Saturday with a 23-song set. James and Hallahan emerged late in the performance to team with The Night Sweats on Traffic's “Feelin’ Alright” in a reprise of a collaboration from the tour’s second night in Charleston, South Carolina.

My Morning Jacket focused on material from their mid-2000s albums It Still Moves and Z for their set in Alpharetta. Jim James & Co. played five songs a piece off each LP on Saturday.

Jacket brought out Nathaniel Rateliff midway through their show-closing performance. Rateliff dueted with Jim James on a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” Saturday marked My Morning Jacket’s debut version of the song from The Stones’ 1969 album, Let It Bleed.

My Morning Jacket and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats resume the Eye To Eye Tour in Jacksonville, Florida tonight (Monday, September 16). Livestreams of the groups’ shows at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheatre on September 18 and 19 are available via nugs.net to benefit HeadCount.
