Mumford & Sons delivered a headlining set at the first weekend of the Austin City Limits at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas on Sunday. The UK band unveiled a new song, “Maybe,” with help from festival performer and singer-songwriter Noah Kahan.
The new song debut came during a portion of the performance that saw Marcus Mumford and company performing in a stripped down format from atop the front of house roof. Mumford and Kahan swapped verses on “Maybe,” and also teamed up to harmonize on the new tune. Watch Mumford & Sons and Noah Kahan premiere “Maybe” below:
Mumford & Sons — Mumford, bassist Ted Dwane and keyboardist Ben Lovett — were backed by drummer Chris Maas, banjo/guitarist Matt Menefee and guitarist Mason Stoops along with a horn section of Stewart Cole, Shane Endsley and Dave Nelson. The ensemble kicked off their ACL set with the title track to Mumford & Sons landmark 2012 album Babel.

Marcus Mumford and company also delivered Babel’s “Hopeless Wanderer” for the first time live with the full band since 2013, as per SetlistFM stats. Additional highlights saw Mumford getting into the crowd for “Ditmas” off 2015’s Wilder Mind, as well as the The Huston-Tillotson University Concert Choir joining the band for “Sigh No More” and “Awake My Soul.” Mumford & Sons went it alone for their 2012 hit, “I Will Wait,” to close the first of two ACL headlining sets.
Mumford & Sons return to headline the second ACL weekend on October 15.
