Mumford & Sons have revealed details of their The Austin 5000 Tour, an eight show North American run in September and October. The tour gets its name from the fact the band will drive 5000-miles while making stops surrounding their headlining appearances at the Austin City Limits Music festival on the weekends of September 30 – October 2 and October 7 – 9.
Following a run of shows throughout this month culminating with an appearance at the Firefly Festival on June 19, Mumford & Sons will set out on The Austin 5000 Tour on the weekend of September 23 – 25 with a spot at the Life Is Beautiful festival in Las Vegas. They will then head to Salt Lake City and Englewood, Colorado ahead of the first ACL Fest weekend. From there they’ll go to Albuquerque, Phoenix and Chula Vista, California before returning to Austin for ACL Fest weekend two. Catfish & The Bottlemen will open the non-festival stops.
On June 17, Mumford & Sons will release a new collaborative EP recorded with Baaba Maal, Beatenberg and The Very Best, entitled Johannesburg.
