Mountain Man Sings ‘Simple Gifts’

Mountain Man unveiled an a capella version of “Simple Gifts,” a take on the 1848 Shaker hymn. “Simple Gifts” is the latest in a series of covers shared by the trio consisting of Amelia Meath (of Sylvan Esso), Molly Sarlé and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig (Daughter of Swords).
“‘Simple Gifts’ is one of those incredible songs that transforms you while you sing it,” said the band in a statement. “It’s like an incantation, and it was a joy to record.” Mountain Man previously released covers of Kacey Musgraves' “Slow Burn,” Wilco’s “You And I,” “White Christmas” and John Denver's “Take Me Home, Country Roads” and “Around & Around.”
