Bay Area guitarist Greg Loiacono has announced the upcoming release of his debut full-length solo record Songs From A Golden Dream. The 11-song album by the co-founding member of The Mother Hips is set to come out on September 23.

Loiacono recruited drummer Todd Roper (Cake, Chuck Prophet) and bassist Scott Thunes (Frank Zappa, The Mother Hips, Fear), as well as Lefty Knight on pedal steel guitar and sitar and Jackie Greene on Hammond organ. David Simon-Baker was tapped to co-produce the LP alongside Loiacono.

“It wasn’t easy finding time to finish Golden Dream,” said Loiacono. “But making this album with such a fine group of people and with songs that mean so much to me has been one of the great pleasures of my musical life.”

Loiacono and his band will support the new album with a brief run of shows in October. He and The Hips also have a number of tour dates scheduled in the coming months.
