2017 has been a slow year for Bay Area veteran act The Mother Hips. While the band did host their annual Hipnic concerts back in May, guitarist Tim Bluhm sat out due to injury. Thankfully for Hips fans, the group will return to the stage with Bluhm later this year.
The Mother Hips, co-founded by Bluhm and Greg Loiacono over two decades ago, will celebrate their signing with Blue Rose Music by playing three shows in San Francisco this December. Great American Music Hall will host the group’s annual holiday performances on December 15 and 16, while Slim’s will host a matinee on December 17.
Greg Loiacono said, “These holiday shows have always been a special end of the year celebration with our family, friends and fans. This year in particular as it is our first time playing together since New Year’s Eve 2016.” Frontman Tim Bluhm has been recovering from a paragliding accident and is eager to get back on stage. “It’s been a challenging couple of years for me. The guys and I are really happy that I get to return to doing shows in such a celebratory setting,” added Bluhm.
