Moon Hooch Announces New Album ‘Life On Other Planets’ & 2020 Tour, Shares Single

Moon Hooch will issue Life On Other Planets, a new studio album, on January 10, 2020. The trio recorded a series of single-take performances for the nine-track LP, which is available for pre-order here. Moon Hooch previewed Life On Other Planets by sharing a video for the record’s lead single, “Candlelight,” and will support the album with an extensive 2020 tour.

The band — consisting of saxophonists Wenzl McGowan and Mike Wilbur and drummer James Muschler — assembled at a studio in Winooski, Vermont with eyes on creating a heavily produced and composed record. Moon Hooch instead decided to go for a raw approach as thanks to the deep relationship they had with the material, they felt one take was enough. “When we got to the studio, we just felt inspired to record these live pieces we’d been performing for so long,” explained Wilbur. “We never really consciously wrote these songs, and we never really consciously planned to release them, but we loved playing them and we realized they were something the fans were really excited about.”
