Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway joined forces with Old Crow Medicine Show for the new single “Big Backyard.” The track is off the upcoming Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway’s upcoming album, Crooked Tree, which arrives on April 1 through Nonesuch Records.
Tuttle produced Crooked Tree with Jerry Douglas during sessions held at Oceanway Studios in Nashville. The 13-track effort also features collaborations with Billy Strings, Sierra Hull, Margo Price, Gillian Welch and Dan Tyminski. Molly and the band (fiddler Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, bassist Shelby Means, banjoist Kyle Tuttle and mandolinist Dominick Leslie) are currently on the road in support of the LP, which includes previously released singles “Dooley’s Farm,” “She’ll Change” and “Crooked Tree.”
Old Crow Medicine Show returns the favor on “Big Backyard,” as Tuttle contributed to their single “Bombs Away.” That song appears on Paint This Town, an Old Crow Medicine Show album set for release on April 22.
Molly Tuttle shared the below statement regarding “Big Backyard”:
“I wish that Woody Guthrie were still around. I’d love to hear the songs he would write about the crazy world we’re living in today. But since he’s not, Ketch Secor and I wrote the best Woody Guthrie song we could think of. Old Crow Medicine Show joined in on the chorus and made it shine. We’re all one family in the big backyard, it ain’t mine it ain’t yours it’s all of ours!”
