Molly Sarlé shared the video for the single “Twisted.” The track appears on the singer-songwriter’s new solo album, Karaoke Angel, which comes out on September 20 via Partisan Records.
Sarlé, who is one-third of the folk trio Mountain Man along with Amelia Meath and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig, will make her solo debut with Karaoke Angel. Sarlé will support the release with a tour of headlining shows in October in addition to tour dates this fall with Wilco and Meath’s Sylvan Esso. Sarlé stated the following regarding “Twisted”:
“Twisted” is a song I wrote to myself. I wrote it while working on a David Mamet play called Oleanna. The play is written so well that it’s impossible to tell who is right, and who is wrong! And so empathy ensues. That’s what “Twisted” is about. If you are paying attention to your life, and to the lives of other people, it’s impossible to escape empathy. Unless you’re a sociopath. And yeah, sociopaths are playing quite large roles in our society these days … Enjoy!
