Jam stalwarts moe. continued a swing through Florida at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg on Saturday night. Sacred steel specialist and Florida resident Roosevelt Collier sat-in with the band to help close out their first set in St. Pete.
moe. kicked off the festivities in St. Petersburg with classics “Spaz Medicine” and “Waiting For The Punchline” along with the frequently paired “Kyle’s Song” and “Kids.” Percussionist Jim Loughlin then led the group on “I Can Never Remember” ahead of fan favorite “Blue Jeans Pizza.” Collier emerged to go toe-to-toe with moe. guitarist Chuck Garvey on “Moth.”

Saturday night’s second set began with a geographically-appropriate “St. Augustine” and the relatively new original “New Hope For The New Year.” Next came “Wind It Up” and the “Underworld” theme from NES video game Kid Icarus. moe teased a segue into “Threw It All Away” but instead went with “Crab Eyes.” The five-piece wound up splitting “Crab Eyes” with “Threw It All Away” before closing out the frame with “Brent Black.” moe. said farewell with a “Johnny Lineup” encore featuring the theme from Super Mario Bros.
