moe. Plays More Rarities In California
By Jeffrey Greenblatt Jul 6, 2018 • 12:27 pm PDT

moe. continued their first extensive tour of 2018 with the second of two shows at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, California. As they did the night prior the Buffalo-native band offered a pair of tunes for the first time since last Spring.
The five-piece band got their final night in at the Belly Up going with the pairing of “Runaway Overlude” which was trotted out for just the ninth time since 2014 with “Bring It Back Home.” The Jim Loughlin-penned “I Can Never Remember” which was debuted earlier this year at The Capitol Theatre and “Skrunk” followed. The first surprise of the night came next as the band reached for “Darkness” serving up the tune for the first time since March 30 of last year. The bust out kicked off a long stretch that brought their penultimate frame of the run a close as the quintet stitched together “Rise,” with “Wind It Up” sandwiched in the middle of “Blue Jeans Pizza.”
moe. got their second set of the evening rolling with “Understand.” The Dither track which hadn’t seen action since April 2017 segued into the old-school “St. Augustine.” “Haze,” Gone” and “Prestige Worldwide” occupied the middle portion of the stanza. “Big World” kicked off the back end of the set as Tin Cans & Car Tires song worked its way into “Ricky Marten” as longtime fan-favorite “Rebubula” finished off the second half of the night. The pairing of “Shoot First” > “Same Old Story” was tapped for the encore.
