moe. and Eggy wrapped up their time on the road together on Saturday, August 18 with a show at the Rock The Ruins concert series in Indianapolis. All nine musicians teamed up to cover The Band classic “Ophelia” as the penultimate song of moe.’s first set.

Eggy went acoustic at Indianapolis’ Holliday Park as they have for the entire tour. Bassist Mike Goodman sat out the run to focus on his mental health.

Guitarist Jake Brownstein, keyboardist Dani Battat and drummer Alex Bailey served up “A Moment’s Notice” to open. A huge surprise followed, as Eggy played “Friend Of Mine” for the first time since September 13, 2018 — a 499-show gap. “Friend Of Mine” gave way to “Beaming” before Brownstein addressed the crowd.

Jake Brownstein thanked moe. for the “amazing experience” and hospitality. “We’ve been looking up to those guys for quite some time and it’s been a real pleasure getting to know them better,” the one-time “I Wanna Be In moe.” contestant explained. He then spoke about Goodman’s absence, stating:

“We were looking forward to this run so much and I know it meant a lot to Mike to be here. We weren’t sure how it was going to go, but it’s been quite a beautiful journey. I think it’s an important moment for us to remember to take the time. Life will keep going and people will take care of you.

“If you ever feel like you need to catch you’re breath, just know that you got people there. People love you and people care. It’s okay to take a moment, no matter what opportunities are there. It’s important to remember that you matter and people love you. Thank you guys for being a constant reminder to us that we have so much love out there and thank you for embracing what we do. It’s been a real pleasure. So, I just wanted to take a moment to tell you that we love you, too.”

Eggy then launched into “Tiny Miracles.” The 15-minute set closer encompassed a take on The Band’s “Chest Fever,” foreshadowing the collaboration ahead.

moe. came out of the gates with the same “Not Coming Down”/”Wormwood”/”Okayalright” sequence that opens their 2003 album, Wormwood. Oldie “32 Things” followed and then Eggy emerged for the collaborative “Ophelia” performance. Alex Bailey stood mid-stage and shared lead vocal duties with moe. guitarist Al Schnier on The Band cover. moe. ended their first set, following Eggy’s departure, with an extended version of Chuck Garvey's “Four.”

The sextet visited “Bat Country” to kick off set two. “Waiting For The Punchline” flowed out of the track from moe.’s 2025 studio album, Circle Of Giants, and spanned over 14 minutes. Bassist Rob Derhak then led his bandmates through No Guts, No Glory standout “White Lightning Turpentine.”

Next, keyboardist Nate Wilson fronted “No Quarter.” The show was cut one song short after the Led Zeppelin cover due to an incoming storm as organizers asked fans to vacate the venue.
