Today, The Mockingbird Foundation has announced the publication of the third edition of The Phish Companion: A Guide To The Band & Their Music (TPC3). The 898-page hardbound book on jam icons Phish is now available for purchase via PhishCompanion.com.

TPC3 documents Phish history from the band’s formation in Vermont through the present with setlists, show reviews, tour capsules, fan prose and original photos. All told, the coffee table book features eight chapters anchored by originally commissioned prints from some of rock’s most esteemed poster artists, including A.J. Masthay and David Welker.

“With this pressing, The Phish Companion makes the leap from the bathroom to the coffee table,” said Foundation Board President Marco Walsh, who co-edited the book with Phillip Zerbo. “We wanted to bring Phish’s full-color story to life in new and surprising ways and delight all kinds of fans, no matter how they relate to the band. We think we got it right.”

All net proceeds from the book will benefit music education for children. The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization operated entirely by volunteer fans of the band, without any salaries or paid staff, that was started in 1996. Nearly $1 million in grants have been provided by The Mockingbird Foundation to support music education for children.
