Tomorrow, Friday, August 28, Mike Gordon and Leo Kottke will release Noon, their first collaborative album in 15 years via ATO Records. Fans won’t have to wait that long to hear the 11-track record, as listening parties will take place today both on SiriusXM’s Phish Radio and then later through Facebook and YouTube.
Fittingly, Phish Radio will premiere Noon at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT on SiriusXM’s Channel 29. Gordon will provide track-by-track commentary for the premiere. The YouTube/Facebook listening party with Mike and Leo is slated to begin at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT this evening.

Gordon and Kottke’s first album since 2005’s Sixty Six Steps was recorded with producer Jared Slomoff during sessions held in Vermont and New Orleans. Noon features a mix of material written by both men as well as choice covers including The Byrds’ “Eight Miles High” and Prince’s “Alphabet St.” Mike’s Phish band mate, drummer Jon Fishman contributed to the latter and four additional songs on the LP. Pedal steel player Brett Lanier and cellist Zoë Keating also make “nearly ambient” appearances on Noon.
