Mike Gordon Jams With Gov’t Mule In Charlotte

Gov’t Mule’s 20 Years Strong Summer Tour rolled into Charlotte last night, where the band was joined by special guests Mike Gordon of Phish and Craig Sorrells at the Uptown Amphitheatre.

Sorrells sat in on a cover of Billy Cobham’s “Stratus” in the first set. In the second set, Gordon came out for a drums and bass segment that was followed by a jam that also featured Sorrells. Gov’t Mule has labeled the improvisational segment as “Cactus Dragonfly Jam” on Mule.net. Craig then helped out Mule on “Silent Scream Pt. 2.” The Phish bassist was in town for the group’s performance at Charlotte’s PNC Music Pavilion this evening, while Gov’t Mule now heads to Alpharetta to open for The Avett Brothers tomorrow night.
