Watch Mike D 5D ‘Switch Up’ On ‘Kimmel’

Beastie Boys co-founder Mike D brought his band Mike D 5D to Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday for a performance of “Switch Up.” Mike D shared the song in May as his debut solo single.

Upon its release, “Switch Up” was the first new music from any member of Beastie Boys since the hip-hop trio’s Hot Sauce Committee Part Two came out in 2011. Carter Lang and Very Nice Person produced the track, which was also the first single from Thank You, the album Mike D put out in August through Capitol Records.

The Kimmel segment aired the same night Mike D 5D played Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, the last stop of a 2026 tour that covered the U.S., Canada and Europe. Mike D’s next scheduled appearance is at Lollapalooza Brazil, which starts March 19 in São Paulo.

Mike D 5D includes Mike D’s sons Skyler Diamond and Davis Diamond, along with Eddie Ruscha, Will Graefe and Milo Ruscha. Watch Mike D 5D perform “Switch Up” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! below:
