Midpoint Music Festival Announces Initial Artist Lineup

The 16th annual Midpoint Music Festival will take place in the Eastern part of Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood September 23 – 25. Today, festival organizers have announced the diverse initial lineup for the event featuring over 25 acts. All told, MPMF will present over 60 local, regional, national and internationally recognized acts on its four stages.
Band Of Horses, Future Islands, JJ Grey & Mofro, Wolf Parade, Reggie Watts, Lucero and Frightened Rabbit are among the Midpoint Music Festival acts announced today. Houndmouth, Kamasi Washington, Bob Mould, Nada Surf, Josh Ritter, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, The Mountain Goats, The Wood Brothers, Tokyo Police Club, Car Seat Headrest, Antibalas, Langhorne Slim, The Budos Band, Russian Circles, Elephant Revival, AJJ, The James Hunter Six, Aloha, Joan of Arc, Helms Alee, The World is a Beautiful Place…, Into It. Over It. and Lucy Dacus are also slated to play MPMF ’16.
“We cannot wait to see the transformation of this part of the neighborhood in September,” said Rick McCarty, festival organizer. “We are very excited to help continue the growth of this festival with a more diverse line up and immersive experience in Over-The-Rhine. The new location and layout should create an amazing weekend.”
A second wave of acts is slated to be announced later in the summer. Four stages will be set up as part of the event in parking lots in Over-the-Rhine, three of which will be ticketed, and one stage will be accessible to the public for free. Three-day passes go on sale this Friday, June 10 at 10 a.m. ET.
