California folk-rockers Midnight North has announced the upcoming release of their third studio album. The 11-track Under The Lights is due on June 16 after Midnight North embarks on an extensive Spring Tour.
Midnight North recorded Under The Lights with David Simon-Baker (Los Lobos, ALO, Jackie Greene) at the Greene Room and Allegiant Studios and the effort is said to “represent a country and soul-tinged sound that capitalizes on the band’s expert songwriting, strong melodies and seamless three-part harmonies.” Grahame Lesh (vocals, guitar), Elliott Peck (vocals, guitar), Alex Jordan (vocals, organ) and Conor O’Sullivan (bass) wrote most of the songs after their first East Coast and Midwest tour and the influence of being on the road is said to shine through.
The Bay Area-based ensemble also detailed an upcoming Spring Tour. The band returns to the road at Ardmore Music Hall near Philadelphia on March 30. From there, the group plays shows in New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Connecticut and Vermont ahead of a Midwest swing that includes concerts in Cleveland, South Bend, Grand Rapids, Chicago, Madison and Columbus. A trip down South follows with visits planned to Atlanta, Charleston, Jacksonville, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Auburn, Baton Rouge and New Orleans to end April. Midnight North will celebrate the release of Under The Lights at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall on June 16.
