Michael Shannon & Jason Narducy To Celebrate R.E.M.’s ‘Fables Of The Reconstruction’ On Winter Tour 2025

Michael Shannon and Jason Narducy have announced a 2025 tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of R.E.M.'s 1985 album Fables Of The Reconstruction. The duo, along with special guests and support from Dave Hill, will perform the classic R.E.M. album in its entirety across North America in February and March.

Fables of the Reconstruction, R.E.M.’s third studio album, was released in 1985. The album featured standout tracks like “Driver 8,” “Can’t Get There from Here” and “Feeling Gravitys Pull.”

Shannon and Narducy toured earlier this year in celebration of R.E.M.’s 1983 album Murmur. Their concert at the 40 Watt in R.E.M.’s hometown of Athens, Georgia resulted in the four members of R.E.M. sharing the stage together for the first time in 17 years.

The 2025 tour celebrating Fables Of The Reconstruction kicks off in California with a show on February 14 at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown. Shannon and Narducy then head to Los Angeles on February 15 and Solana Beach on February 16. The California run wraps up in San Francisco on February 18.

The tribute tour continues in the Pacific Northwest with shows in Seattle on February 21 and Portland on February 22. The tour continues in Indianapolis on February 24, followed by St. Louis on February 25.

A return to the 40 Watt Club for two-night stand is scheduled for February 27 and 28. The tour then moves to Carrboro, North Carolina on March 1. March sees the stops in several East Coast cities, including Richmond on March 3, Washington D.C. on March 4, Philadelphia on March 6, Boston on March 7, and Brooklyn on March 8.

The tour concludes with a Midwest run, stopping in Minneapolis on March 12, Milwaukee on March 13, and wrapping up in Chicago on March 14. Shannon and Narducy will be backed by a band consisting of drummer Jon Wurster (The Mountain Goats/Superchunk), bassist John Stirratt (Wilco), guitarist Dag Juhlin (Poi Dog Pondering) and keyboardist Vijay Tellis-Nayak (Kick The Cat).
