Metallica released a video for their new single, “Screaming Suicide.” The track will appear on Metallica’s forthcoming album, 72 Seasons, due out on April 14 via the band’s Blackened Recordings.
“Screaming Suicide” is the second single from the new LP, Metallica’s first full-length of new material since 2016’s Hardwired…To Self Destruct. The band previewed 72 Seasons in November with the lead single, “Lux Æterna.”
Metallica now follows with “Screaming Suicide.” Frontman James Hetfield detailed the new track:
“Screaming Suicide addresses the taboo word of suicide. The intention is to communicate about the darkness we feel inside. It’s ridiculous to think we should deny that we have these thoughts. At one point or another I believe most people have thought about it. To face it is to speak the unspoken. If it’s a human experience, we should be able to talk about it. You are not alone.”
