Singer-songwriter Merce Lemon unveiled the new single “Will You Do Me A Kindness.” The captivating six-minute track marks the Pittsburgh native’s first original single of 2024.
“Will You Do Me A Kindness” comes on the heels of a single-split with Colin Miller of Bonnie “Prince” Billy covers released in January. Merce Lemon took on “I See A Darkness,” while Miller reimagined “Gulf Shores.” Lemon’s debut studio album, Moonth, arrived in August 2020.

Merce Lemon described “Will You Do Me A Kindness” as “a collage of moments, lines, and feelings I had gathered over the months. The title comes from a quote I heard in the youtube video of the crass Winnebago man and the rest kind of spilled out from there. It is a song close to my heart, the inescapable loneliness we feel as humans, the little things we notice when we are alone, the fear yet desire to give ourselves wholly to another.”
The song starts as a slow ballad and builds to a fiery climax. Guitarist Reid Magette turns in a fierce guitar solo before “Will You Do Me A Kindness” ends back in pensive fashion.
