Jim James, Marcus King, Charlie Parr & Others Contribute To NIVA Benefit Album ‘Me & My Guitar’

Charlie Overbey recruited Jim James, Marcus King, Charlie Parr and many others to contribute acoustic tracks to Me & My Guitar, a compilation out today via Bandcamp. Proceeds from the 25-track album will benefit the National Independent Venue Association’s (NIVA) Save Our Stages campaign.

All 25 tracks are exclusive to Me & My Guitar. Duane Betts, Langhorne Slim, Suzanne Santo, Jimmy Vivino and Micah Nelson (as Particle Kid) are among other contributors to the compilation album.

“I am hoping that not only will this album help raise awareness of the financial severity facing all venue owners, bar staff, stage crew & touring musicians, it will also give the listener a badly needed break in their day to listen to over an hour’s worth of calming and heartfelt music coming straight from the souls of these artists,” Overbey explained. “Everyone deserves the chance to forget their troubles, even if it is just temporary. What better way than through the music.”
