MC Taylor Guests With Lebo & Friends At Hardly Strictly Bluegrass
By Scott Bernstein Oct 7, 2019 • 9:52 am PDT
Hiss Golden Messenger mastermind MC Taylor joined Lebo & Friends for a Grateful Dead cover on Sunday at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Taylor led the group through “Brown Eyed Women” at the festival’s Towers Of Gold Stage following the Hiss Golden Messenger set on the same stage.
Sunday’s Lebo & Friends set featured Lebo (Dan Lebowitz) along with bassist George Porter Jr., vocalist/trumpeter Jennifer Hartswick, drummer John Molo, percussionist Wally Ingram and keyboardist Adam MacDougall. Yesterday’s Hiss Golden Messenger set also included a taste of Grateful Dead music as Taylor and company fit a portion of “Franklin’s Tower” within “Lucia.”
