The 2018 installment of the Rock On The Range festival came to a close on Sunday with a set from Tool. Frontman Maynard James Keenan made a special dedication and offered an update on the group’s long-awaited studio album according to a report from Alternative Nation.

Keenan told the crowd, “We’d like to dedicate our entire set to the friends and family of Chris Cornell” after Tool opened with “The Grudge” as per Alternative Nation’s report. This past Friday marked the one-year anniversary of the Soundgarden frontman’s death. Soundgarden was supposed to headline the 2017 edition of Rock On The Range.

Later in the night, Maynard James Keenan addressed the status of Tool’s first new album since 2006’s 10,000 Days. “We fear the end of your patience,” the vocalist said. Alternative Nation’s report mentions “He then said something along the lines of: ‘Things are progressing. Slow as fuck, but progressing.'”
