The Daily Beast has reported famed film director Martin Scorsese will be on hand at Soldier Field in Chicago over the Fourth of July weekend to help film Fare Thee Well -celebrating 50 years of Grateful Dead for a new documentary.

In October, we found out that Scorsese had been tapped to executive produce a documentary from filmmaker Amir Bar-Lev about the Grateful Dead. While at the time of the October report, the new documentary was expected to be released in 2015, The Daily Beast’s report states “footage shot by Scorsese and Bar-Lev of the 50th anniversary shows will be folded into the documentary, which will be released sometime in 2016.”
Scorsese has been behind many impressive music documentaries, most notably The Last Waltz featuring the last concert by The Band before guitarist Robbie Robertson’s departure.
