Marcus King Drops ‘Lie Lie Lie’ Single
See the guitarist perform his latest 'Young Blood' single live at Easy Eye Sound Studio with bassist Nick Movshon and drummer Chris St. Hilaire.
Marcus King released the new single “Lie Lie Lie” along with a live performance of the track captured at Nashville’s Easy Eye Sound Studio facility. The song appears on Young Blood, a forthcoming studio album due out through American Records/Republic on August 26.
The guitarist reunited with producer Dan Auerbach on Young Blood. Auerbach previously helmed King’s Grammy-nominated 2020 debut solo album, El Dorado. The 11-track LP finds Marcus backed by drummer Chris St. Hilaire and bassist Nick Movshon in an attempt to replicate the classic power trio sound of the late ’60s and 1970s. Young Blood was recorded in the summer of 2021 at Easy Eye Sound Studio and includes material co-written with Auerbach, Desmond Child and Angelo Petragalia.
“‘Lie Lie Lie’ for me captures the spirit of this record.” King told FLOOD Magazine. “You can feel how natural the vibe was in the studio. This track showcases each player’s energy, it shines a light on the production and the SOUND of Easy Eye Sound. At the two-and-a-half-minute mark the band locks into a groove that becomes a sonic representation of why I do what I do! I LIVE for that feeling!”
Marcus King will hit the road for an extensive fall tour in support of Young Blood between September 9 and October 27. King previously previewed the album with singles “Hard Working Man” and “Rescue Me.” Watch the guitarist’s “Lie Lie Lie” live performance video and stream the studio version below:
