Gary Clark Jr. and Lukas Nelson & Promise of The Real headlined the action on Sunday at the Gasparilla Music Festival in Tampa. Lukas Nelson sat-in with Clark Jr. and his band towards the end of the night at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.

Clark Jr. asked the crowd, “Can we play some blues?” before starting “3 O’Clock Blues,” a song written by Lowell Fulson and later popularized by B.B. King. The Texans took turns soloing on the blues standard with Lukas up first and Gary delivering a short and sweet flurry of notes just before the end of the song. Gary and Lukas were backed by Clark Jr.’s band of bassist Johnny Bradley, guitarist King Zapata, drummer Johnny Radelat and keyboardist Jon Deas.
