Before playing a headlining set with Lotus on Saturday at the JamPacked Craft Beer & Music Festival, guitarist Tim Palmieri sat in with Spafford. The collaborative performance took place at Brown’s Island in Richmond, Virginia.

The one-day event saw additional appearances by Moon Taxi, Kendall Street Company and TAUK featuring Kanika Moore.

Spafford’s JamPacked Festival set began with “Fake The Fate.” The foursome – guitarist Brian Moss, bassist Shon Gordon, drummer Nick Tkachyk and keyboardist Cory Schechtman – continued unleashing their five-song set with “Motel 6.”

The quartet expanded to a quintet with the emergence of Palmieri at this point in Spafford’s set. The guest guitarist lent his skillful playing to Spafford’s “Darkness Singularity,” which was debuted last October.

Spafford returned to usual formation for a subsequent 19-minute version of Dire Straits’ “Money for Nothing.” The set, which earlier saw the band playing through the passing by of nearby freight train, ended with “Neutrino.”
