The Disco Biscuits headlined the inaugural Biscoland music festival this past Friday and Saturday at Wonderland Forest in Lafayette, New York. Lotus performed on both nights of the new two-day event and were joined by tDB guitarist Jon Gutwillig for their last two songs on Saturday.
Jon “Barber” Gutwillig lent a hand on a sequence connecting “Tar Pits” and “Juggernaut.” The former is a relatively new song released as a single in 2022 and included on last year’s Bloom & Recede LP. Gutwillig stuck around to help Lotus close their set with the classic “Juggernaut.”

The lengthy segment saw Lotus give their guest plenty of room to let it rip. Barber shredded over both high-energy and more groovy soundscapes. Gutwillig also traded riffs with Lotus guitarist Tim Palmieri.

Lotus opened their second and final set of Biscoland 2023 with “Eats The Light” off the similarly-named 2016 album Eat The Light. The jamtronica act then connected oldies “Plant Your Root” and “Hammerstrike.” Next came a “Neon Tubes” featuring the band’s recently debuted cover of the A-Trak remix of Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Heads Will Roll” within before Gutwillig emerged.
The quartet will play Boulder’s Fox Theatre on October 30 and 31. Lotus revealed their Halloween theme will be “Songs From The Crypt.” Fans can vote here for Lotus deep cuts and rarities they want to “hear raised fro the musical crypt.”
