Big Shrimp Enlists Mihali, Gantzer, Sophistafunk & More For LonCon 2024 Lineup

Big Shrimp will not only carry forward the Baked Shrimp flag musically but will also continue a tradition by hosting and performing at both nights of LonCon, a festival held in tribute to late live music lover and suppeorter Lon Gellman. LonCon moves to the new location of Wonderland Forest in LaFayette, New York September 20 – 21 featuring a 2024 lineup that also includes Mihali, Gantzer, Sophistafunk and other jam-centric acts.

Supergroup Aliens Among Us consisting of former Goose drummer Ben Atkind, Twiddle keyboardist Ryan Dempsey, Big Shrimp guitarist Jared Sage Cowen and Dogs In A Pile bassist Sam Lucid will perform at LonCon 2024 as well. Organ Fairchild, Annie in the Water, Escaper, Leon Trout, Mike Powell and Hilltop are among other artists slated to play Wonderland Forest over the course of the festival.

LonCon first took place in 2021 at Arrowhead Ranch in Parksville, New York. A LonCon 2024 pre-party will be held at Syracuse’s Westcott Theater on Thursday, September 19 featuring and the Cal Kehoe Band. This September’s festival will be Big Shrimp’s initial public performances. Jared Sage Cowen is joined in the band by drummer Jager Soss, bassist Max Perrotti and keyboardist Matt Takesh.

Early-Bird Tickets are on sale now. Big Shrimp will donate $1 from each ticket sale to the Lon Conscious Gellman Scholarship Fund. Proceeds from the fund will help students in need of financial assistance at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College.
