Lockn’ Festival Organizers Announce New Dates

The 2016 Lockn’ Festival which was originally scheduled to take place September 8 – 11 has been moved to August 25 – 28. Organizers announced the move today and expect future installments to take place on the same weekend “hopefully for many years to come” at its home of Oak Ridge Farm in Arrington, Virginia.

Lockn’ organizers Peter Shapiro and David Frey first revealed the move to “Lockn’ ‘Lumni” and then announced the change on the festival’s social media pages. Among the reasons given were that the post Labor Day weekend “has proved a challenging time for many people to attend,” the stress put on local government agencies, emergency service providers, equipment suppliers and the labor force necessary to put on such events due to an annual NASCAR race and college football games taking place during the original weekend. Shapiro and Frey also want to give the owners of the venue more time to prepare for the return of horse racing at Oak Ridge.

Lockn’ ‘Lumni who already purchased tickets will be able to obtain full refunds until March 11. The note shared also mentions they will be announcing the festival’s lineup soon. A Lockn’ representative noted the lineup should be announced by the March 11th refund deadline. Stay tuned!
