Lindsey Buckingham shared the new single, “On The Wrong Side.” The song will land on Buckingham’s upcoming self-titled solo album due out on September 17 through Reprise.

Lindsey Buckingham — written, produced and recorded by Buckingham at his home studio in Los Angeles — is the guitarist and singer-songwriters’ first solo album since 2011’s Seeds We Sow and follows his departure from Fleetwood Mac in 2018. Lindsey heralded the LP with the single “I Don’t Mind,” which arrived along with news of a Fall 2021 U.S. tour.

Press materials for “On The Wrong Side” described it as “about the peaks and valleys of life on the road with Fleetwood Mac” with Buckingham singing “We were young, now we’re old / Who can tell me which is worse?” Lindsey also revealed that the song is similar to the Fleetwood Mac classic “Go Your Own Way” in that it’s “not a happy song, subject-matter wise, but it was an ebullient song musically,” he said. “This was sort of the same idea.”
