GOV’T MULE’S TRIBUTE RAMBLE TO FEATURE
THE LEVON HELM BAND ON SATURDAY, 6/2/12

Radio Woodstock and world-renowned guitarist Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule, Allman Brothers Band, The Dead) are proud to announce a very special addition to the Mountain Jam music program: Gov’t Mule‘s Tribute Ramble featuring The Levon Helm Band on Saturday, June 2.

During their second set on Saturday night, Gov’t Mule will be joined by the full Levon Helm Band including Amy Helm, Larry Campbell, Teresa Williams and the LHB Horns among others. The set will feature music from Levon’s 50+ year career.

Levon Helm, the long-time drummer and singer for The Band, a 2-time Mountain Jam performer and Woodstock resident, passed away in April at the age of 71 after a decade-long battle with cancer.

“Levon was a musical hero of mine,” says Warren Haynes. “His 70th birthday celebration at Mountain Jam two years ago was a magical night and a truly inspiring musical performance. So bringing back that incredible band to share in our tribute seemed like a great way to honor his memory.”

On Tuesday, May 29, 7pm, Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule, Allman Brothers, The Dead) will perform a short acoustic set and sign copies of his Grammy-nominated solo album Man in Motion and the new Warren Haynes Band: Live at The Moody Theater 2CD/1DVD set at Guitar Center in Manhattan (25 West 14th St).

Fans that attend can also enter for a chance to win VIP tickets to the Mountain Jam festival at Hunter Mountain, NY from May 31-June 3. Curated by Warren Haynes and Radio Woodstock, this year’s lineup includes Steve Winwood, Gov’t Mule, The Roots, Ben Folds Five, Michael Franti & Spearhead, James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) DJ set, Gary Clark Jr., Trombone Shorty, and many more.
